The day finally came! Last Friday, at about 8:30 in the morning, the backhoe started working. And systematically disassembled the building.
It was a very careful process with no further damage done to the garden.
That might be because Priscilla and I (and other gardeners off and on all day) stayed as spectators.
Well, I’ll confess I couldn’t stay all day – B had a fever and was pretty miserable to the core. He wanted to watch, but as soon as we’d get over there he’d want to come back home. Having a 101degree fever on a 95degree day is just no good. But he was a trooper and I got PLENTY of pictures.
The teardown only took one day, it looked like the backhoe was just breaking apart rows of legos. Oh and do you remember the pieces of plywood painted like windows that the city used to board it up? Here’s what the backhoe thinks about that…
