PARADE!
The Columbus Children’s Parade has been happening in our neighborhood for years. Yet even children’s organizations in our community haven’t known that it existed. It is run by volunteers, and they’ve done a lovely job. Kids have gathered to celebrate and walk together from Kwanzaa Park to the Hot Times Festival.Â
In a brainstorming session last fall, some of us as community leaders thought maybe we could get grant funds to expand the parade – and we got it! For 2012 there are big changes!
The Hot Times Festival, Central Community House and Urban Connections present:ÂThe Columbus Children’s Parade!
We have moved the parade to East Main Street to bring greater focus to this positive event in our community. We’re currently recruiting child and youth organizations to walk, bike, have a float in the parade. We’re also looking for sponsors. If you’d like more info on getting a group into the parade, where to be a spectator from, or how to get your name or organization on the t-shirt, contact me or visit the Facebook page
You can be in prayer now for a great turnout, beautiful weather, safety and fun. Oh, and of course you can come and cheer all the kids on!
