We know that students need safe space to learn during virtual class time. If you are looking for a space for your middle or high-schooler need a safe, socially distanced space for learning a couple mornings each week, consider signing up for UC’s Learning Extension Center. As an LEC, we are partnering with Columbus City Schools to provide supervised space, WiFi, and snacks for students to focus on their work.
Students, staff, and volunteers will have their temperature taken & recorded, and be asked about symptoms they may be experiencing. Please be mindful of your body before you come. We know that many symptoms on the list can be caused by other illness, allergies, etc, but we ask that for everyone’s safety, if you experience any of these, please stay home. Anyone, student, staff, or volunteer, experiencing any of the following symptoms will not be allowed access to UC until they are symptom free for 48 hours:
- Body temperature of 100+ degrees within the previous 24 hours.
- Sore throat or persistent cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
- Loss of taste or smell
- Body aches, head ache
- Runny nose or congestion
Students will have their temperature taken at the door, maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet, and will be required to wear masks at all times in the UC House. Students will be provided with cloth, reusable masks, which they will keep with their supplies, on their assigned shelf.
